French Toast with a Blueberry-Blackberry Sauce

From my list, you can all see that I adore French Toast. This past weekend, I decided to indulge in a sweet and tangy Blueberry-Blackberry sauce with my French Toast.

French Toast
Ingredients for French Toast
3/4 cup of evaporated milk
2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
1 dash of nutmeg
1 large egg
3 teaspoons of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of melted butter
1/2 loaf of French Baguette
Ingredients for Blueberry-Blackberry Sauce
1 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of blackberries
1/4 cup of water
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
What Do I Do With the Blueberry-Blackberry Sauce?:
In a medium sized saucepan, stir together the sugar, water, and cornstarch.
Add the blueberries, blackberries
Place the heat on medium-low and allow the sauce to thicken
Remove the sauce from heat and set aside. be sure to cover the sauce pan to maintain the temperature.
What Do I Do With the French Toast?:
Cut the French Bread in half. Slice the French Toast about half an inch thick. Put the sliced pieces aside
Beat the egg in a baking dish
Whisk in the butter, evaporated milk, and vanilla
Add the sugar and whisk until smooth
Place each side of the bread in the batter for about 20 seconds
Heat your griddle to medium heat and spread butter all over the griddle
Cook the bread on each side until golden
Top with the Blueberry-Blackberry Sauce
Add whipped cream, fresh mint leaves, and enjoy !
